GEODAR is a research project funded by the Natural Environment Research Council in the U.K..
The project is a collaboration between the Universities of Cambridge (Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics), Sheffield (Civil and Structural Engineering) and University College London (Electronic and Electrical Engineering).
In addition, our instrument is based at the Vallee de la Sionne avalanche test site, in Switzerland, which is managed by the Swiss Federal Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research (SLF). Hence, we have an active collaboration with that research team.
The image to the left was taken by Francois Dufour of SLF and shows an avalanche at the site. For more information about this test site and our work there please follow the appropriate links to the left.

In the summer of 2012, we presented our research findings at the Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition, which had some 11 000 visitors over its 6 day duration, as well as many more on-line. Our on-line exhibit is still available.
